Inventing Tenting

Easy Blog Photo
As camp for the senior syndicate is coming up in a week Room 10 is designing tents. Some people finished early like Genzui in the photo but some people are still drawing. "For me the hardest part was drawing in 3-D," said Jayden. In the end, the lesson proved a success.

Secret Sentence

Today with Mr Mac and Mrs Knight, we learnt a new game called Secret Sentence. The teachers had to choose a secret sentence and the children had to guess words and punctuation. It sounds easy but it's actually really hard! It took lots of guesses to figure out the sentence. Look below to see the photo of our hard work guessing the sentence. Hope you like this game and we would recommend it to the Senior school.

We also completed some activities in our brain booklets.
We have coloured in brain templates to create a brain hat.
We also attempted to write with our non-dominant hand and without sight.

Pipe Cleaner Tower Challenge Lol

Easy Blog Photo
Miss Shin gave us a challenge to do in groups of 3 and 4. Miss Shin gave us 4 pipe cleaners each and a tennis ball. It was very difficult because the tennis ball was so so heavy and it was difficult because no one from any group could hold the tennis ball or the pipe cleaner straight up by its self at the beginning. The other group's ideas were great it was so so fun that our class would really love to do it again.

Taking Risks

Easy Blog Photo
Room 10 embarked on a challenge today that combines developing key competencies, PE and Statistics. The goal was to throw three paper balls into a hoop successfully and the risk factor was to decide how far away to throw them from. The further away the more points you could earn.... But if you miss then you get no points! After creating levels of difficulty and measuring out the intervals, the students made their choices and then tested their risk factor. Round two will be interesting when they can strategise to beat another team. Round three will be tallying the data to decide which interval has the best reward vs risk.

Playing Hockey!

Easy Blog Photo
30th May 2016 Today we played hockey! First of all we warmed up by dribbling and tapping the ball to the end and ran back. Then we played numbers. Mrs Knight called out a number and that number of people at the front of the line had to run around the first cone which marked their opponent's goal, and had to run and get the ball and hit it through their goal (cones.) We had a draw of 4 all. Hockey isn't about winning, it's about trying your best and having fun!
