Paper Planes Challange

Room 10 has embarked on the first part of their measurement unit, a paper plane challenge. After designing their planes, the students flew them several times and measured the distances covered. The next step is to find the average distance of their flights and use data to modify their designs in order to improve their planes' performance. They will be recording their findings using tables and scatterplots.

Catching on to Cricket

Auckland Cricket has been visiting Sunnybrae over the past two weeks and Room 10 have been polishing their catching and batting skills through a series of games. Using 'big' hands and drawing the ball in helped the students catch accurately as balls were flung to them at different speeds and heights. They also participated in a batting game, hitting between cones to earn points and running to retrieve the ball and ensure their team had as many turns as possible.
