Hail!
This is all the hail found by Rory, around room 10. We were all so excited to see the amount of hail that had fallen today. Most of the hail rocks are all the same size and some were really big. The photo shows how much hail Rory collected! That looks like quite a lot don't you think?

In Room 10 we have been learning about how to display the weather in Maori. It has been very exciting and in the photo you can see William, Senna and Rory all engrossed about their learning.

Taking Risks
Room 10 embarked on a challenge today that combines developing key competencies, PE and Statistics. The goal was to throw three paper balls into a hoop successfully and the risk factor was to decide how far away to throw them from. The further away the more points you could earn.... But if you miss then you get no points! After creating levels of difficulty and measuring out the intervals, the students made their choices and then tested their risk factor. Round two will be interesting when they can strategise to beat another team. Round three will be tallying the data to decide which interval has the best reward vs risk.
